Greetings,
We are looking for a full length version of a Waltz Quadrille for
dancing "Parisian Varieties". I came across your Waltz Quadrille
online (very lovely) and I'm wondering if you have an expanded
version which we might be able to buy? I suppose we could piece this
one together repeating as another solution but I thought I'd inquire
if you might have a longer one.
I am not well versed with musical terminology however as far as I can
see it this is a dance which has 4 couples and each couple repeats
the 16 counts of steps for each figure. I have a listing of 3
figures, the last being the one known as "Prisoner of Love". Perhaps
you are familiar with this dance and might be able to help me?
We run a dance social in the Los Angeles area. We're people who have
been dancing the Victorian dances for many years and decide to start
a monthly meeting. Obviously we are still working out the kinks. :o)
I loved your pieces on your play list from the website and am
intersted in picking up one of your cds for our group.
Best regards,
Darlene Hamilton

To Frank and The String Dusters
Your music added a special touch to Jack's 80th birthday party. Our friends and family enjoyed each of your selections. All our guests, whether inside the barn or outside had some toe tapping going on.
Keep up with the strumming and singing.

Hi Frank,
My mother is part of the Chambersburg, PA gang that used to listen to you play at the Country Crab in OC. Betty, Darcy, and Jen listening to your music was the highlight of their OC vacation every year. Betty, my mother, is terminally ill with gall bladder cancer, one of her last wishes is to visit Ocean City again please email a schedule of any dates you will be playing, I'm sure listening to your music will put a smile on her face. Thanks Michele

This is the best darn group I have ever heard. You can't help but be happy when you hear their music. It gives you a spring in your step and a tune in your heart. Thank you so much for graciously giving the world your beautiful, joyful sound. You can hear the love! Keep up the absolutely amazing job and congrats on winning the banjo contest. You deserve it! Hi-
Just wanted you to know that I am thoroughly enjoying my copy of "Thursday Night at Marilyn's". My sister in Salisbury gave it to me for my birthday. She loved it and knowing that I've recently taken up playing the hammered dulcimer though I would like it as well. Sis, you hit the mark!
I have a request. Would you please ask your banjo player Frank, if he could tell me where I could get a copy of the banjo tab for "Soldier's Joy"? Is he "frailing" or playing "Scruggs" style. I think he's frailing but I'm not sure. I've been playing 5 string banjo for little over a year now and really like this rendition. Also, do you have other CD's for sale? can I buy them on line?
Thanks-

Good to see another Dill that plays the Fiddle. I was raised in Stockton and my Father, Ivan J Dill< played Bass for a local Country Band. They were called Logan Lamb and the happy Seeds. They had a well known Fiddle Player in the band, Ray Park, he played BlueGrass. I fell in love with that music, so I took lessons.
My Dad wanted me to learn too read music. I played with a local band of guys from our High school. Tony and Billy Brazil. I went too playing bass in a Rock band, it payed more. But i still like Blue Grass, zydeco ETC. Good to hear of other Dill's in music. All My Best. I found you in a Google Search.

Frank, Marilyn and Mickey:
I thought I would drop a line to let you know that I have truly enjoyed your "Thursday Night at Marilyn's" CD - I have nearly worn it out! It was a pleasure to meet you at the Olde Princess Anne Days event. Keep cranking out the traditional and Celtic music!
Here's wishing you all the best -- have a Happy, Prosperous and Healthy New Year!

Bill and I hired the Stringdusters for our wedding
reception in September. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their music -
especially me! So, I am giving each of my sisters the new CD for
Christmas and buying Primitive Soul for myself. The Stringdusters
really made our wedding day extra special -- and they are really nice
people too. Thanks, folks!!

Marilyn,
Last night I worked until 3AM on a job that I am trying to finish up that has
taken months. But yesterday afternoon I just had to stop work and pop your new
CD into the stereo. The opening track, the old favorite Lord of the Dance, was a
delight with its instrumental opening and unusual switch to acapella harmonies.
That cut alone would have made the purchase of the CD worthwhile, but hold
on...you guys were just getting started! The liveliness of Cherokee Shuffle and
Red Wing made it hard to decide which was more fun and the tender sounds of many
others made me wish I was born in the mountains instead of Salem. Marilyn, keep
up the great work--this one's a keeper.
Thanks,
David Stockman

Great stuff Marilyn. The dolcimer is sure a far cry from the oboe of back in the day! Much success to you.

Heard you for the first time at Berlin MD Friday nite, and we really enjoyed your music. Bought a tape and played it on our way back to PA. We live near Newport, where there is an annual gathering of string players. Ever been there?

Hi Frank...Tommy Bailey told me about "Star Mountain" so decided to look for your website. If my name doesn't ring a bell...I'm the guy that attempts a lick or two occasionally on the Dobro with Green Meadows Bluegrass (east & west) It look's like you're having a great time with your music, and I wish you and your fellow musician's nothing but the best. Was very sorry to hear of your Dad passing...and remember his fine singing when he was down at the farm in Slanesville. Take care..and good luck!!!
